How to setup PPTP VPN for Windows 7/XP:

 

1) Go to the windows start icon on the bottom left of your pc > control panel > network and internet > network and sharing cener

2) On the following screen, select "set up a new network or connection"

3) On the next screen, select "connect to a workplace" and click next.

4) On the next screen choose " No, create a new connection" and click next

5) Select "Use my Internet connection (VPN)" and click next

6) On the next screen enter the details

Internet address: This will be your PPTP vpn server address. Please refer to here for free PPTP VPN account.

Destination name: This can be anything to identify your vpn. For example " pptp1-MamakVPN" will identify this connection as a vpn that connects to the first pptp vpn server of MamakVPN.

Remember to tick the option "Don't connect now; just set it up so i can connect later"

7) On the next screen, enter your username and password. Leave the domain empty and click create.

8) Next click on the windows button on bottom left of your PC and type "ncpa.cpl". This will bring you directly to your network's connection

9) Next right click once and click on properties on the VPN connection that you have just created. For instance "PPTP-UK".

On the security tab, choose PPTP. Make sure CHAP and MS-CHAP v2 is ticked and click ok.

10) Finally go back to network connections, double click on "pptp1-MamakVPN" vpn connection and click connect. 
 

How to setup PPTP VPN for MAC OS:

This simple tutorial will guide you through on how to setup a PPTP VPN connection with the Mac OS to our VPN server 

1)Go to the apple logo on the top left of your screen and select System Preferences.

2) Click on Network

3) On the next screen, click on the "+" sign at the bottom left of the menu.

4) On the next screen, select VPN

5) Choose PPTP for the VPN type. Service name will be the name that you will identify this VPN. It can be anything and for thiss example, we use PPTP1-MamakVPN. Click Next when you are done

6) On the next screen, enter the server address. Please refer to the VPN email that we've sent you for the PPTP server address. Enter your VPN username in the Account Name field and click Authentication Settings

7) Next, enter your VPN password in the Password field and click ok.

8) After clicking OK, the setup will bring you back to the previous interface now click on Advanced button and tick "send all traffic over VPN connection" and click OK.

9) Finally,click apply. This will save your configuration and to connect to the VPN, simply click the "Connect" button.

 

 

How to setup OpenVPN VPN for Windows 7/XP:

1) Download the latest version of OpenVPN software from the OpenVPN website.

Note: Although not required, you are recommended to use the latest OpenVPN version to prevent problem such as routing issues on windows.

2) Run the installer and install to default location. You must install into default location to prevent any complications with OpenVPN. During installation you might run into a dialog that asks if you want to install device software.

You must click yes to this for OpenVPN to operate without any issues.( This will install the Tap driver needed to establish a connection to VPN server)

3) Download our latest OpenVPN configuration profiles here and extract to default config folder located in c:\program files\openvpn\config. 

4) On your desktop, you'll find the program icon "OpenVPN Gui". Right click once and select "Run as Administrator".

5) On the lower right of your taskbar, you'll find the OpenVPN icon. Right click once on it and select the server you want to connect to.

 

How to setup OpenVPN VPN for Mac Operating System:

 

1) Download and install tunnelbrick. (Tunnelbrick is an open source third party software for the Mac freely distributed and hosted on google code) You can downloadtunnelbrick by going to the tunnelbrick website.

2) Once you have downloaded tunnelbrick, click on it to install.

3) If you've set up a password for your Mac you'll be prompted to enter your machine password to install tunnelbrick, so just enter your Mac password if you have one.

4) Now that you've successfully installed tunnel brick. Download our OpenVPN configuration profiles here.

5) After you've obtained your ovpn configuration profile, choose "i have configuration files"

6) on the next screen choose openvpn configuration(s)

7) Next, choose Open Private Configuration Folder

Tunnelbrick will open the configuration folder. Now just drag and drop the all the ovpn (OpenVPN configuration profiles) files into this folder.

.8) Great, you're almost done! Now go to top right of your Mac OS, click on the tunnelbrick program and click Connect client

You'll be prompted to enter your members password, so just enter that and click ok.

tunnelbrick will then start connecting to the vpn server.

That's it! You're connected to our VPN server. You can verify this by clicking on the tunnelbrick program or by going to www.whatismyip.com

 

 

How to setup PPTP VPN for Android phone, Android tablet or any other Android powered device:

 

The following tutorial show how to setup PPTP vpn on android device

1) Go to settings > more > vpn > add VPN network

2) If you did it correctly, you'll come to the following screen. 

Name : You can put anything here to identify your vpn. For example "pptp1-MamakVPN" would identify it as PPTP vpn connecting to the first pptp server of MamakVPN.

Type: Choose PPTP
Server address: Refer to the free PPTP VPN account page, within it you'll find the PPTP address to fill here
PPP Encryption : Leave this as ticked

Once you're done, click SAVE.

3) Click on the "pptp1-MamakVPN" vpn you've just created. Enter the username and password and finally click connect.

 

How to setup PPTP VPN for Apple phone, Ipad or any other IOS enabled device.

 

1) Go to settings > VPN > Add VPN configuration

2) Choose PPTP and enter the followings:

Description: This can be anything to describe your VPN, eg: "pptp1-MamakVPN"

Server: The PPTP server address which can be found on the VPN settings email you received

Account: Your VPN username

RSA SecurID: leave it off

Password: Your VPN password

Encryption Level: Set to auto

Once you're done entering all infos, click save.

3) Go back to the previous screen and choose the VPN connection. Slide the VPN button from "off" to "on"
